Poco has confirmed the X8 Power 5G launches in India on September 4 at 12 noon, selling through Flipkart. One number is doing all the marketing work here. The battery is 10,000mAh. That is double what most phones carried just two years ago, and Poco claims up to 3.5 days of playback on a single charge.

Why a 10000mAh Battery Matters
Think about who actually needs this. Delivery partners on the road twelve hours a day. Students in hostels where the power situation is a lottery. Travellers who treat a power bank as luggage. A 10,000mAh phone with 100W charging basically replaces the power bank, and the 27W reverse charging even lets the phone become one for your earbuds or a friend’s dying handset.
The trade off with big batteries has always been weight and thickness. Silicon carbon battery tech has improved enough that brands can now fit these capacities without building a brick, though expect this phone to still feel substantial in the pocket.
The Sibling to Watch
The regular Poco X8 launches alongside it with a 9,000mAh battery, 67W charging and an IP69 rating, reportedly based on the Redmi Note 17 Pro. If the Power variant prices too high, the standard X8 could quietly end up the smarter buy. Leaks also mention four Android upgrades and six years of security patches for the series, which would be excellent at this level.
Should You Wait for It?
If you were about to buy any phone mainly for battery life, yes, wait until September 4. Pricing will decide everything. Under Rs 25,000 this becomes the battery king of the year. Above Rs 30,000 it walks into iQOO Z11 5G territory, where the fight gets much harder.
